igher Diploma in Hotel Administration

(3 years / 6 semesters) 

Objective: 

Higher Diploma in Hotel Administration is the highly recommended program for the youths who wants to take up career both in the local or global hotel industry. Usually the graduates of this program join in the hotel industry in supervisory positions. The students are usually given an all round training in hotel administration. This program is recognized internationally and they have the opportunity to sit for the internationally recognized Diploma in Hospitality Management of American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA), USA. 

This 3 years duration program is designed of consecutive 6 semesters of institutional teaching and 6 – 9   months industrial attachments. The institute manages the reputed hotels both in home and abroad for the students’ industrial attachments.

Job opportunity for the graduates of this program is tremendous both in local hotel industry or Middle East, Singapore, Australia and Canada. The graduates receive sufficient practical training and required job training this why they become ready to join as a group leader, supervisor, team manager, team leader, management trainee or group leader in various departments in hotel industry. 

Further Study / Credit Transfer to Overseas:

 Graduates of this program can continue their education for pursuing Bachelor Degree. The graduates have opportunity to join in the 4th year of Bachelor of Arts Degree in Hotel Management of the institute (approval is under process). Also they have the opportunity to transfer their full credits to the final year of the Bachelor Degree of the same program in institute’s overseas academic partners- College of Tourism and Hotel Management, Cyprus and AIS St. Helens, New Zealand. Also they have the opportunity for transferring/crossing their earned credits to Australia, Canada and UK for pursuing Bachelor Degree.

After completion of Diploma in Hotel Administration students who want to continue in Higher Diploma in Hotel Administration they will study the last 2 (two) semesters of Higher Diploma in Hotel Administration i.e. 5th & 6th Semesters only. Offering admission in 5th Semester is entirely depends on the availability of seats and discretion of the authority. 

Industrial Attachments: 

After completing of Theory & Practical in 6 semesters equivalent to 27 months like (4.5 months in a semester) students will be given industrial attachment in local 4/5 star hotels or 4/5 star hotels in overseas countries especially in Dubai. The duration of industrial attachment will be for 6 – 9 months but the student can continue more months. The students will be given award after 6 or 9 months successful industrial attachment. 

Admissions: 

Qualification for Admission in Higher Diploma in Hotel Administration is minimum GPA 2.5 in HSC / 'O' Level or equivalent. The age limit is maximum 25 years. A good physical appearance and attitude to work in service industry is mandatory for those who want to get admitted in this course. There are 4 Intakes for this course every year in January, April, July & September but new batch may start more often this is why interested students should contact the institute at any time throughout the year.

Tuition Fees: 

The total tuition fees of this course is Tk. 150,000/= (One Lac Fifty Thousand only) and the institute expects the students to be paid the full course fees at a time. And when the students pay at a time at the time of admission a discount of 10% is usually given on the total fees. However, if any student wants to pay in different installments in that case the total fees can be paid in maximum 9 (nine) installments as per the collection policy of the institute.

Rules & Regulations: 

The institute is very strict on its’ own rules and regulations. It gives the highest emphasize on the discipline both in academic and in general. The students should properly go through the ‘Confirmation Letter’, ‘General Notice’ and ‘Prospectus’ in order to learn the complete procedures to study at the institute. After that if anything needs to be clarified more the students are advised to contact the students’ affairs office. 

Diploma in Hotel Administration

(2 years / 4 semesters)

Objective:  

Diploma in Hotel Administration is one of the major program of study for entering in Tourism and Hospitality Industry. The theme of the course is to cover the basic knowledge and skills necessary for those involved at a variety of levels in every department of the hotel that includes Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage Service, Food Production, Hotel Accounts, Human Resources, Management, Marketing and Sales etc. The course also provides a framework on which to build further studies and on which to relate further acquired knowledge and experience.

Job Opportunities:  

After the successful completion of the course, the students can get a job very easily in standard hotels including five/four/three star hotels, motels, resorts, guest houses, entertainment parks, theme parks, hospitals, cruise lines, catering establishments and so on.  

Further Study / Credit Transfer to Overseas: 

This course is designed in a way that after successful completion of the entire module a student can continue further study up to Higher Diploma in Hotel Administration in this institute or they can transfer their credits to local private universities for getting the Bachelor Degree. Moreover, a student can join to continue undergraduate programme of Bachelor of Arts Degree in Hospitality Management in College of Tourism and Hotel Management, Cyprus or AIS St. Helens, New Zealand starting from the 3rd year of the said programme. This programme is considered the best one at the institute for transferring/crossing the credits on a 2+2 basis for pursuing Bachelor Degree in Hotel/Hospitality Management in Australia, Canada, Cyprus, New Zealand and UK.
